ELDERS:
In the Presbyterian Church, the office of Elder is a vital leadership role rooted in biblical principles and Presbyterian polity. Elders are ordained leaders who share in the spiritual oversight, governance and prastoral care of the congregation.
Mr Gary Smith (Session Clerk)
Mr A. J. (Reghu) Reghupathy
Mr Mark Sloan
Mark Sloan was raised by loving Christian parents in a “typical” God honouring Presbyterian home in Ireland and has been active, since early adulthood, in evangelism, initially as a volunteer in the Corrymeela Christian Community, Northern Ireland.
Mark was educated to MSc Level, specialising in Applied Geophysics and has been continuously employed for over 25 years in the oil and gas industry.
Mark has been an active Communicant member at St Columba’s Presbyterian Church for over two decades and is highly motivated to present St Columba’s Church as a loving community of Christian worshippers who together seek to witness for Christ in the Peppermint Grove area.
Mark has three daughters, two of whom are currently being educated at Tertiary level.

DEACONS:
The office of Deacon in a Presbyterian Church is distinct from that of Elder, focusing primarily on practical service and mercy ministry within the local congregation. While governance and spiritual oversight fall to the Elders, Deacons are responsible for caring for the physical and material needs of the church members.
